Noise Mapping
Computerised noise contour mapping is a powerful tool that can be used to investigate environmental noise levels and the effect of mitigation measures for a wide range of sources. It can be used for a single item of plant up to whole cities. Hepworth Acoustics has been involved with noise contour mapping for over 10 years and uses a variety of noise mapping tools to provide relevant noise data. The company is at the forefront of developing expertise and methodologies to deliver accurate results, and has carried out research work for Defra and WG-AEN on noise mapping accuracies.
The company can provide:
- Noise contour maps of any size
- Advice on noise action plans
- Detailing of noise mitigation works
- Monitoring of effects of noise abatement strategies
We have recently been awarded the contract to map road and rail noise sources in all English areas required by the second round of the Environmental Noise Directive. This noise map will be the world's largest with calculations at approximately 950 million locations. .
Hepworth Acoustics has been appointed by Defra to produce the world's largest noise map >> read more.
